About Us

Established in 2003, R. W. Barnett Radiology, PLLC is a diagnostic teleradiology imaging interpretation service located in Montgomery, AL. We are a USA-based, physician-owned, service. Our main purpose is to provide high quality teleradiology diagnostic imaging interpretation services, and through our advanced online technology, alleviate the shortage of qualified radiologists.  Our radiologists have had extensive training in multiple diagnostic subspecialties. 

Our advanced technology utilizes a high tech digital, HIPAA compliant, PACs computer system. We provide diagnostic interpretations for medical organizations located throughout several states, including Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Florida, Louisiana, and North Carolina. If there is interest in utilizing our services within other states, licensure in those states can be considered. 

Diagnostic teleradiology is an ancillary service of invaluable proportions. In Teleradiology, patient images are transferred electronically from one location to another for the purpose of obtaining professional, specialized interpretation of the images to assist the referring doctor in diagnosing illness or injury.  This is particularly important when a sub-specialist radiologist interpretation is needed, and access to these radiologists is limited. 

Our Teleradiology system utilizes standard network technologies that allow viewing on your electronic devices.  Our services allow medical organizations access to online images and reports 24 hours a day. We also provide overflow read assistance to groups that prefer teleradiology over the expense of hiring another radiologist. We offer quick turn-a-round time in report generation, which is key to better patient care.

Meet our Chief Radiologist

Dr. Ross W. Barnett is board certified by the American Board of Radiology. Originally from Atlanta, he attended the Medical College of Georgia. There, he graduated Summa Cum Laude with multiple honors, including Georgia Regent's scholarship for Academic Performance, 4.0 GPA for 3 consecutive years, Vice President of Academics for his class, Peacock Award for Gross Anatomy and Vice President of prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha as a junior medical student, given only to the top 1% of medical students during their junior year. He also scored in the top 1% on all medical licensing examinations. He began his formal medical training in Neurosurgery and Pediatric Intensive Care at Wake Forest, followed by Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, He has extensive clinical and diagnostic expertise in Neuroanatomy. His other focus is in Musculoskeletal and Orthopedic Imaging, after completing a visiting fellowship with world-renowned teacher and author of multiple Orthopedic MRI texts, Dr. Stephen Pomeranz. Dr. Barnett is the former Chair of Radiology at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL. His experience in this inpatient environment afforded critical expertise in interventional, fluoroscopic, and breast procedures. Since that time, Dr. Barnett's focus has been providing world-class outpatient imaging services through a network of managed imaging centers scattered across the southeast and teleradiology services supporting mobile imaging at physicians' offices and various other diagnostic facilities. These outpatient services include:
